Inner Beauty, True Happiness, and the Freedom to Be Yourself"

My friend reminded me that true love and happiness come from inner beauty—it is skin deep, beneath the surface, in your heart ❤️. A person’s appearance is never enough to judge them. I am asking society to stop playing games and overusing social media. People are in control of their own happiness, and I know I don’t need anything else. I will find someone who loves me for who I am. I am happy, I have a wonderful life, and I love writing. I don’t need to compare myself to others through social media.

No one should have to compare their happiness to others because it prevents true satisfaction with their own lives. Social media creates unrealistic expectations of success and happiness. Many people, especially children, have become addicted to technology, struggling to focus on learning basic skills because of constant screen use. We must remember that most people live in circumstances far more difficult than ours—such as those in Palestine, Syria, and other places where people are homeless and struggling just to survive.

Society needs to stop this constant comparison. Life is not a competition. Everyone should be grateful for what they have. Each individual is unique, capable, independent, and caring. We can achieve our dreams in our own time. I remind myself daily that I don’t need to compare my life to anyone else’s. Social media often shows only what people want others to see. No one’s life is perfect, and only Allah knows the challenges each of us faces. True happiness comes from within, not from comparing ourselves to impossible social media standards. You are perfect just as you are.

Children, in particular, are being affected by this addiction to technology. Too many young children are exposed to screens instead of exploring the world, playing outside, and developing social skills. It breaks my heart to see parents giving children devices just to quiet them down. Children are meant to interact with their environment, friends, and nature—not just technology. This overexposure can harm their education, attention, and development. We need to stop this cycle and help children grow naturally and healthily.

I also have empathy for those with disabilities and anyone striving to discover the power of their own voice. I want to help individuals use their voice to communicate their experiences peacefully, to raise awareness, and advocate for themselves. Every person has a voice—our most valuable resource—that can never be taken away. As a social worker, I will encourage my clients to use their voices and passions to create meaningful outlets for self-expression and advocacy.

My passion for writing has greatly influenced my interest in social work. Writing helps me express myself, manage my frustrations, and build patience, authenticity, dedication, and confidence. Through my heartfelt blog, The Shining Star, I advocate, inform, and educate my readers on issues that matter to me—such as educational inequality, gender roles, media representation, Syrian refugees, and more. Writing allows me to observe the world, advocate for myself and others, and use my voice to inspire positive change.

As a social worker, I will help my clients find their voices and feel comfortable sharing their experiences. I will teach them to advocate independently, just as writing has taught me to share mine. Every person has the ability to make a difference when they use their voice with courage
