Capitalism and reality

Thank you to everyone read my blog
There are many qualities that make a city a city, but whendo cities become global?  In my opinion, there are five factors that make a city global.  The first factor is the idea of globalization. The process of   globalization is what makes a city universal.  Globalization is the process of gaining enough human capital and resources to make a normal city become worldwide.  In other words, in order for a city to become global, the city has to move up the social ladder by achieving something so significant that it can give the city enough power and status to become noticed on a global scale, or cause cities around the world to become inclusive especially social institutions, to become known on a global scale. Another factor that leads to globalization is transforming cities through their own economy by making them international.  As a result of selling and trading products with other countries to gain power,   money and resources in their city make their economy betterGood examples of globally international cities are Tokyo, London, and   Beijing.   After all, Stassen said that the third factor and the most important of globalization is the idea of the world as a single economy and culture.   She talks about globalization as being the world developing a single economy and culture as a result of improved technology and communications and the influence of very large multinational corporations. On the other hand, modern cities do not have the same global connections. Although they might have a smaller network of other modern cities to trade with, it is not on a global scale.
A global city generally is considered to have an important role in the global economic system hierarchy of importance to the operation of the global system of finance and trade. (Stassen 4)Sassen defines global cities as “globalized production networks that needs new forms of financial and producer services to manage them. These services are often complex and require highly specialized skills” (Stassen 2). This proves the fourth factor of global cities, that all global cities are connected to each other. They are interdependent and they cannot live on the own.  This is how they differ from modern cities, because modern cities can live on their own. They can be independent. Modern cities can have their economy, as opposed to global cities, which are part of a global economy, which includes a different sort of human capital. Human capital is the fifth factor of global cities. Human capital is resources that can be used to generate economic wealth as a result, global cities are subject to work together with other cities in order to combine their   economies, and they tend to cluster in a limited number of cities. This   is because human capital or specialized talent and firms related to different specialties can cluster in different cities, which means that there are actually a quite a few of these specialized production nodes, because they do not necessarily directly compete with each other, having different groupings of specialtiesAfter all, people are necessary as resources for global cities to survive.  This proves how important human capital is in society because globalization needs people with different skills, talents for society to unitize as resources that can be used to generate economic wealth. Human capital is needed to make a better and more productive civilization that will be better for future generations to live in as a result of global cities forming. While global cities have all of these resources, modern cities have less access to resources. Because of all the human capital that global cities require, they also have larger and more diverse populations. Modern cities have smaller populations and less diversity. However, modern cities can become global cities if they gain more popularity or revenue, or something unique that attracts people to come from all over the world. For example, London has Big Ben, Paris has the Eiffel Tower, and Tokyo has Tokyo Tower.
These are the fundamentals that make global cities,   but human capital is not the only key force that drives a city to become global. Another factor that is important to the development of cities is culture. Culture is defined as   the beliefs, customs, practices, and social behavior of a particular nation or people share A culture is  also a group of people whose shared beliefs and practices identify the particular place, class, or time to which they belong and  share a set of  attitudes that characterizes a group of people    Culture is communication, This is because  communication is a way to express myself  through my daily thoughts,  ideas, and  opinions, feelings about the  people and  the  world around  me. In addition, I feel that communication is being able to share my knowledge with other people. Meanwhile, you can also learn and spread new ideas new information from different people every day about life, and myself, through any form of mass media, and talking to people. Morphology and culture are interconnected in Society because morphology is defined as   the linguistics the study of the structure of words in a language As a result; there are many forms of communication. This means that communication does not have to be verbal as long as you get the message across to people in cities or around the world. As a result using body language through facial expressions can convey your mood and emotions better than verbal communication.  After reading Chapter one,  in Global Soul  I realized that in communication sometimes the symbols   can  be  very important to the messages that you want to convey In culture of a city and how you want others to perceive you  in society.  For example, in Chapter one in Global soul, Iyer talks about two situations with Vietnamese woman who changed how she saw herself when she was talking to different people.   In the first story the Vietnamese woman Is talking  to another  Vietnamese women  so as a result,  she plays a role  of  being proud of Vietnamese heritage  to make a good a impression  on the  other  Vietnamese women.  On the other hand   when the woman was talking another American friend she wanted to give that person a completely different impression so she said “I was only born in Vietnam.  “But I do consider myself a Vietnamese person, but I am an American citizen“(pg 25) .In other words how you send a message is a message and it can be more important that your original message.  People peform many unique roles for other people to make good Impressions on the many different individuals that we speak to everyday and we try to make them see us the way we want people to perceive us in society. Therefore, this demonstratesthat the more growth and development cities have the more the Morphology and the way people understand languages can change what culture means in society.   As  a  result,  not  only  does  the development and expansion of cities   change  culture by creating  new ideas, new ways people can accomplish their goals in life  depending  on what role they have  in cities users, commuters, or residents of  the city. The formation of different cities the diversity  of people lead to the  invention of new technologies withwhich people can have more opportunities  to expand  their boundaries with other people In New York  or any other city around the world.  Cities also change the meaning of a society thus changing how people view themselves in terms of their identity or place where they belong in society culture playsa role in our daily life We would not have global cities without the concept of culture .This is because there are two types of cultures in society today in order to have  global cites  there is a business culture and traditional culture.   In addition, the business aspect of culture is important to branding a city with enterprises. As a result, there has been a shift in how people understand and reflect culture.  The business culture is also known as a global supermarket culture.   Both cultures are essential to the diversity of life, simulation of activities, exchange of goods products and communication between a group of people, which Cultural identity is makes a city become unique and global. A traditional view of culture means that people’s  beliefs and social norms, values in society  are  tradition from the grandparents generation  This is important because all cities  start out the same way and grows to be global .On the other hand a  global supermarket  culture means that  there is a separate culture created only for the expansion and development of global cities around the world  which means there is  business network that uses our current culture to make more exchange of good s come in to the city and frame the local aspect to become global . This is the toggle switch.  This is known as  what  comes into the city ,and out  of the of cities because  it not only  impacts the rate but it control  what comes in  come in to the cities  meaning what values to we emphasize  in the global cities  the fast new  technology goods  or  do global cities need to abandon traditional values in society  to stay popular . As a result, this determines a city’s cultural identity which depends on how much diversity the city has been exposed to.  This leads to the city ‘s ability to role play in other words how cities represents themselves in society according to what they want to sell about themselves  so they integrate ideas or products  to exchange with other people making global cities an open or closed business networks system
There are many ways that Abrahamson notes the concepts of rootlessness and multiple identities as a way of framing identity in a global landscape.   First of all there is a lot oftension with Pedro Ruiz forming his unique identity in the global landscape of the world.
This is because  of the fact that The cultural industries are significantly  sociological because   of the important  role they play in  establishing  people’s beliefs and aspirations  as well as setting  popular  style (Abrahamson 121) . This means that people all around the world are being exposed to the same movies, music and related products like the movie titanic have become universal because of the impact of Globalization.  Therefore, people like Pedro Ruiz who are not from America are forced to form a cultural identity based on the fact that thereis a business culture and traditional culture.  Cultural identity is the identity or feeling of belonging to, as part of the self-conception and self-perception to nationality, ethnicity, religion, social class, generation, locality and any kind of social group that have its own distinct culture, in this way that cultural identity is both characteristic of the individual but also to the culturally identical group that has its members sharing the same cultural identity. Abrahamson 124).  As a result, Pedro Ruiz’scultural identity is Cuban, even though he came  to America when he   was eighteen years old As a result,  of multiple  cultural Identity globalization is rapidly dissolving social and economic barriers in time and space, and thus the distance between states, transforming the world’s diverse populations into a more integrated or homogeneous world: global markets, global travel, a global youth culture, and an age of global information (e.g. mobile phone pictures of police brutality in Egypt or vote-rigging in Zimbabwe) Abrahamson 127).  Globalization is also creating a more fragmented and heterogeneous world, facilitating more particular identities. On the one hand, globalization is making it easier for people of a similar identity to be aware of each other across time, space, and distance and to come together across the globe. On the other hand, it contributes to the ethnic, religious, and racial divisions that are fragmenting the political landscape into smaller and smaller units. (Abrahamson pg 130).   The world is becoming more like a global city because of globalization and
People have many different perspectives on the debate of products displacement in movies.  Even though the idea  of product  displacement  is  not only in movies but all  over any type media For example, most television shows displacement  of products  like I phone or I pads  by disguising  the apple logos as pears on poplar nickelodeon shows . I hate when television shows advertising agencies advertise their  products in such obvious ways because people can obviously tell what the products are. This product displacement is very distracting from the actual plot of movies because of most products have nothing to do with what the movies are talking about. Companies are advertising theirproducts in movies by creating new context in movies for their products to secretly be advertised in hidden messages that are very obvious, yet subtle and then the movies always continue with the normal plot until the movies are over as if nothing has happened.  This happens in all products displacement except for really old movies like lord of the rings even If companies advertise more than one different product.  I think that product displacement is only popular because we have become such a fast paced, no time for vacations, technologically dependedsociety. As a result, companies have realized that the best time to advertise their products to people is when they are taking   breaks from their daily lives to watch a movie at the movie theater. it Is a very  evil,  but  necessary tool products displacement In movies so  companies  can advertise products In best way possible it is as If  People do not care that products  like all star shoes  are advertised in movies. Companies hypnotize people who want to have fun, escape the reality of their problems and relax at the movie theater into making people think that they want to  these products  even though most people do not need to buy ipad,  iphone and laptops to survive in this world
