My inspiration

My own fascination of Brooke Ellison life story
Brooke Ellison’s life story is a miracle. Brooke Ellison’s life story is an inspiration to me for more reasons than I can count. There are so many obvious reasons Brooke Ellison’s life story is an inspiration maybe she only inspires me because I have Cerebral Palsy and I use a wheelchair every day. No, that is not the only reason I am so touched by her story I am amazed that she was able to overcome so many obstacles, yet she is still so determined to achieve her goals and dreams  in life. She has such an optimistic view on life considering her circumstances she has never given up and I really admire her for that. Brooke Ellison was a perfectly beautiful normal girl before the accident. It is really amazing how one little mistake changed Brooke Ellison‘s life forever as a result of the accident she indirectly went to Harvard. I wonder how different her life would have been if she took the bus like she was supposed to and she was not hit by the car. I would absolutely love to meet Brooke Ellison and her family. I have so many questions for them mainly; I would ask Brooke Ellison what inspires her to keep on moving forward until now? Did she ever find out what happened to the driver that hit her? In addition,  I would also ask her what would happen if she ever got to meet the driver that hit her, how she would react to him, what she would say to him. I would ask Brooke Ellison if she would ever forgive the driver that hit her if he ever asked for her forgiveness. I am so amazed that Brooke Ellison even survived the accident after all she went thirty six full hours without brain activity.
After the accident, Brooke Ellison only stayed in the hospital for six weeks .The way the doctors treated her was very mean, the doctors gave Brooke Ellison and her family very  little hope that she would ever be able to fully recover from the accident and resume a normal life Despite that fact,. Brooke Ellison’s parents Gene and Ed Ellison never gave hope that their daughter would make a full recovery.  They always believed in her abilities and her potential to great things. The doctors were always very pessimistic about her condition even in front of her and she was only an innocent eleven year old girl. When the doctor coldly said “your daughter will never be able to walk again” in front of everyone in the room Brooke Ellison’s father asked the doctor to come out of the room to talk to him and in a serious tone he said to the doctor “You will only talk about my daughter condition in a optimistic way or it is you are the one who is going to need a doctor.”  I was so moved by the family‘s reactions before and after the accident each individual of the family had different reactions to the accident their family roles changed dramatically after the accident. They all went through different stages of grief. Before the accident Brooke Ellison’s mother Gene was just starting her first day of her new job as an elementary school teacher and she was always busy she had no confidence in herself. The father Ed Ellison worked in social security he was a hard worker patient quiet natured person. Brooke Ellison also has younger brother named Trent who was playing at his friend’s house on the day of the accident. The older sister Kirsten was very active, independent; she went to school then straight after school she went to karate everyday. I think the older sister Kirsten was very selfish, she was too wrapped in up in her own world to be a responsible sister and look after Brook. I personally blame Kirsten for the accident she was never really there for Brook like an older responsible sister should have been there for her little sister. On the day of the accident Kirsten told Brook to take the number four bus home after school, but instead Brook wanted to play with her friends after all she was just an innocent eleven year old girl who wanted to have fun and enjoy life. Kirsten should have been there at the bus stop waiting for Brook to make sure that Brook got on the bus safely.  Kirsten should have gone to pick up her little sister from school and took Brook to the bus stop to wait for the bus.
After Brook left the hospital Brook and her mother went to a rehab facility for nine months they were separated from the rest of the family mean while the father stayed home to work and to take of Kirsten and Trent. Brook and her mother were both very depressed, Gene the mother had an emotional breakdown the first time she spoke to Ed Ellison on the phone from the rehab center but she still had hope. I almost Gene the mother was leave her daughter at the rehab center because she was going to crack from not being able to handle the pressures of their circumstances and help her daughter heel to resume a normal life.  After Gene had talked to another mother of a patient at the same with another spinal cord injury: Gene saw a completely different reaction the mother was pessimistic she had lost everything she gave up all hope for her son’s recovery and just left him them. After that conversion Gene realized she had to be able to endure the pain and become strong willed person for her daughter’s sake. The nurses at the rehab center were also very mean to Brook they told that could never go back to school. Brook was very depressed and scared her few weeks at the rehab center she did want to do anything. She did not want to take her medicine when the nurses would give it to her, but eventually over time she began to take the medicine from her mother. after Brook got her physical strength she started to wear back brace and ventilator to breathe and she is advocating for people . I wrote a letter to Obama using my powerful voice to fight for justice and my family and my dreams
