I want to change the education system
- Thank you readers 5000who is with me education is the foundation for public health and awareness of our society problems. Education is key to becoming productive members of society and advocacy to help people achieve their goals and dreams in life and create a better world for future generations.
There are many reasons that there is so much social inequality in society today. First of all, the way our social hierarchy is stratified causes inequalities in the health care system. There are many factors that people think are not related to health care but they actually have a deep connection to health care: these factor are class race, education, housing, income, and other social elements. They are the most important aspects of how healthy or sick individuals are. It is not new that people of color get unequal health care and have poorer health outcomes than their white majority what is new is how solid the evidence is becoming that race and discrimination alone, regardless of income or education, have a direct negative effect on health. There are three main reasons for inequality of equity in the healthcare system. The0 first, factor is the difference between equity and equality; the second, factor is between equity in levels of health or health care and equity in financing; and third, factor income inequality leading bad health in society (Rodwin Pg 3).
THE first category to explain the inequality in health care system is Health equity Health equity refers to the study of differences in the quality of health and healthcare across different populations. (keister pg 333). Equality means "the same .Many people would probably support the ideal of promoting a fair health care system to make health status equal among all citizens. Health equity is different from health equality, as it refers only to the absence of disparities in controllable aspects of health (Rodwin Pg 3). It is not possible to work towards complete equality in health, because there are some factors of health that are beyond human influence. Inequality implies some kind of social injustice. As a result, if one population dies younger than another because of genetic differences, people tend to say that there is a health inequality. On the other hand, if a population has a lower life expectancy due to lack of access to medications, the situation would be classified as a health inequity. These inequities may include differences in the "presence of disease, health outcomes, or access to health care between populations with a different race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status Health equity falls into two major categories: horizontal equity, the equal treatment of individuals or groups in the same circumstances; and vertical equity, the principle that individuals who are unequal should be treated differently according to their level of need Disparities in the quality of health across populations are well-documented globally in both developed and developing nations. ( keister pg 333).
The researchers measured inequality by comparing the incomes of people in a given place who earned the 80th percentile in the county with the incomes of those in 20th percentile. Then they measured life expectancy using a custom measurement they developed — it counts the “potential life years lost” in each community by measuring all those who died before the age of 75, and the age at which they died. So someone who died at age 70 would have five years of potential life lost. Then they adjusted the numbers according to how old people were in the county, so counties with more old people wouldn’t look sicker than counties that were younger. The study looked at only the average life span and not that of higher-income versus lower-income residents. (New York times article pg 1) The second difference, between equity in levels of health or health care and equity in finance, involves the interrelationships between costs and benefits. In addition, the second factor of inequality or health care and equity in financing are the attitudes and perspectives, of patients, providers and/or taxpayers, often vary. From the point of view of financing, it is crucial to distinguish the distribution of costs between those who actually receive services and the larger set of all who pay for them. (Rodwin Pg 3).
Richer, better-educated people live longer than poorer, less-educated people. Why might income inequality be a health risk, and what accounts for the fact that people die earlier in American states and cities where income inequality is higher? If income is related to health, than redistribution from rich to poor will improve health care system , although this effect appears to be too small to explain the geographical patterns in the United States. If health depends on others' incomes, for example if health is connected to relative lack of income than health inequality will be interrelated to health for individuals, and income inequality will be hazardous to health in the entire population . of America. The last reason for Health care Inequality in society is ascription and achievement in society the difference between an achievement culture and an ascription (born into culture is not difficult to understand. Achievement( is earned or learned status or behavior which in society means that people are judged on what they have accomplished and on their ability Ascription means that status is attributed to you by things like birth, relationship gender, age, interpersonal connections, or health care access . The former kind of status is called achieved status and the latter ascribed status. Most people have limited access to health care due to the social class that they are born into like working class citizens. Achievement-leaning societies or organizations justify their hierarchies by claiming that senior people have "achieved more." In ascription-oriented cultures, however, hierarchies are justified by "power-to-get-things-done." People like poor working class citizens in the article cannot medical care if they are sick based on income get an change their ascribed status unless people marry rich individuals. The United States of America is becoming more of an ascribed oriented culture than an achievement culture because our social hierarchies are justified by “The people who have the power-and influence in society to-get-things-done these individuals are the upper class citizens. This is why there is so much health inequality in poor than rich communities systems the poor students never get to show off their skills in the world if the government only favors the rich upper-class citizens in society.
There are many problems that have increased the gap between the rich and the poor people and significant risen the class Inequality in society. One of the reasons that class and health inequality Is high Is the majority of the supposedly “normal” 99% of American people who are working and middle-class citizens cannot see due to their lack of awareness and the willful ignorance they have about the way our social hierarchy and class system stratification is very tightly harden . This does not mean that these people are not normal. This could mean that some people still believe that you can come from nothing and through a good education, a lot of hard work a person can slowly move up the social ladder to gain more social status in society. This leads you to more job opportunities work so you can buy a house have a good life future (be able to retire peacefully and still be successful. This belief is known as the “American Dream “. Unfortunately, the “American Dream “is a myth it is not really possible for person from the person from the lower working class to achieve health care equality in society “the odds of It happening are slim for a “American Dream “Was only possible for the majority of people after World War II to 1970 when the economy was good and there was much less social and class. now In reality, only one person out of one thousand people can be lucky enough to achieve the “American Dream “ and be successful In our society. This Is because of the fact that even though our original class system stratification was designed for the rich to help the poor our class system stratification now is only allowing the rich people to become richer and the poor more poor. Our class system stratification is a important factor that Increasing class Inequality In many ways because our class system stratification is not allowing opportunities for social mobility or access to health care which means not only do the working and middle-class citizens not have more opportunities to access to health care gain money, power, resources’ to , achieve the “equality in health care system “ and be successful ,(be the one percent of society , but
The lack of awareness and the willful ignorance many people have about the reality of what it takes to achieve the “ health care equality is turning our once great meritocracy into a downward spiral of disappointment, unequally of gender, race, work, education, social class statues, deepening inequality, and uneven distribution of wealth around the world which leads to global poverty. America is losing money, products, power, resources, fast pretty soon America will not the strongest nation In the world America will become a third world country. People need to act more progressively instead of over analyzing problems and trying to be the “Hero” by helping to solve the problems of other nations like Egypt Iraq and China while America does not even attempt to solve Its own problems.. We need to work together in order to solve the problems we face in our society and then we can fix the world’s problems it is hard not impossible. The nation can get back on track America needs to stop lowering the goals, standards, expectations of youth and individuals who reach for the starts dream big.
