Women's and social media

I keep hearing a lot on social media that we need to teach women the importance of being a wife and mother so her focus is not on career or earning money. I truly believe, it's not only the women but more so men that we need to teach that to. The thoughts and beliefs that lead women into career mindset are along the lines of "for worst day I need it", "I don't have to beg anyone for money," "I feel respected," "I am valued at work" etc etc. Our brothers need to truly self reflect. It's not a debate here. It is simply for everyone to self reflect upon. The women who choose to stay at home and prioritize their home and children: - are they assured they'll be taken care of even on the worst day by their men? (even if u die, have u planned well for her after u r gone? What is it going to look like for her if u divorce her?) - do these women get reasonable amount of freedom over the money their men make OR are they frequently reminded...

Thank you so much Kulsoom for everything, you are now part of Ayesha’s small world. Thank you so much Muhsen, we would have never thought of taking Ayesha for Umrah, if it wasn’t for Muhsen Umrah. You guys did an awesome thing, beyond our wildest dreams was Ayesha touching the Khana Kaaba. Thank you Wali, Kamal, Mohammed and all of the Muhsen team. I would say it was a dream team of Muhsen Umrah. Thank you so much to sister Joohi, sister Roohi and brother Sheikh Ibrahim for putting together this wonderful event. Ayesha already wants to go for Hajj. 🤞 I also want to say thank you to all the families for being there to support everyone. Everyone involved in Muhsen Umrah, May Allah grant all your wishes which are good for you and your families. Aameen Ya Rubul Aalameen

Austim

surprise! April autism awareness month  is Autism Acceptance Month this a—a time to recognize the talents, contributions, and diversity within the autism community. At The Arc, autistic people and their loved ones are a part of our staff, volunteer leaders, and the driving force behind our work. Their lived experiences shape our advocacy at a time when an estimated 1 in 36 children in the U.S. are autistic—yet too many remain underserved. The big picture: Autistic people deserve full inclusion and respect. Yet, they continue to face misunderstanding, discrimination, and barriers in education, employment, healthcare, and community life. True inclusion means more than awareness—it requires action to remove these obstacles so autistic people can thrive as their authentic selves. From awareness to acceptance: Autism Acceptance Month builds on decades of advocacy. It began in 1970 as Autism Awareness Month and, in 1988, gained national recognition through a presidential proclamat...

My heart

hunter  What areas of social work interest you particularly? Helping others through social work is one of my main goals and passions in life. I have always wanted to advocate for people. I have cerebral palsy, which has made me realize how important it is to convey your own ideas and messages. Having cerebral palsy makes me realize how important it is to independently convey your own messages and communicate your ideas in a positive light. My experience with cerebral palsy has taught me that only the individual can truly advocate for themselves. I have learned that even though people can advocate for you with your best interests at heart with the best interests and intentions to help you (your parents, friends or your support system) can advocate for you, the best way to show how strongly you feel on an issue is to advocate for yourself. Therefore, my life experiences and perspectives enhance my desire to teach any individual self advocacyself-advocacy skills so they never s...
