I love the titanic

Titanic Not Just another Love Story

The movie Titanic starts on a boat with a photograph from April, fourth 1912 of a young woman named Rose. A young man named Brock Lovett (Bill Paxton), a treasure hunter who searches sunken ships for articles of value, finds the photograph. As a result, he meets an elderly woman who claims that she is the woman in the photo and that she survived the tragedy of the Titanic. He asks the elderly woman (Gloria Stuart) to tell him how she survived the tragedy.  She agrees to narrate her personal experience on the Titanic when it sank, and how she young Rose (Kate Winslet) ,falls in love with Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is a poor artist, instead of her wealthy fiancée Caledon 'Cal' Hockley (Billy Zane). The film is written and directed by James Cameron The movie Titanic is powered by emotions and persuasive acting of a very well chosen cast of actors.

The movie Titanic is based on the actual tragedy of the Titanic, which sunk in the North Atlantic in 1912. I think the movie version was realistic in how it portrays the sinking of the ship at  the end of movie. The Titanic was the largest, most luxurious ocean liner of its time. The Titanic sunk because it crashed into an iceberg on its maiden voyage on April fourth1912.  It took more than one thousand five hundred of its two thousand two hundred passengers to the bottom. According to an article titled “The-Secret-Of-How-The-Titanic Sunk”, two government investigations conducted immediately after the disaster agreed it was the iceberg; the vessel had gone to the bottom intact. The crash was blamed on the ship's deceased captain, E. J. Smith, who was condemned for racing at 22 knots through a known ice field in the dark waters off the coast of North America www.usnews.com/news/national/articles/2008/09/25/11). In 1997 James Cameron's film Titanic, largely mirrored the scientific consensus at the time, and seared Titanic's terrifying last moments into popular memory, especially the part in the movie when the Titanic’s stern soared high into the air before it cracked in two and disappeared. 0

The very talented acting of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio is what made the movie come to life and the story very believable to the audience.  The movie was produced in 1997 fifty eight years after the actual tragedy; I do not think many people would care to pay to watch a boring factual documentary for four hours. As a result, (James Cameron) writes a very interesting love story with convincing dialogue and casted the very alluring young fit actor Leonardo DiCaprio to capture a young audience. I do not think the move would have been a success if Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio were not in it.
Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the reasons I like the movie so much.  He is very handsome in the movie. I especially love his blonde hair and blue eyes.  Leonardo DiCaprio’s acting conveys very sincere emotions throughout the film. This really makes his character Jack come alive in the movie. I think this is particularly demonstrated in the scene where Rose (Kate Winslet) is about jump off the boat and he stops her. This is the first scene they meet, and this is one of my favorite scenes in the movie because I think the scene really does a good job conveying the message of kindness by the way Leonardo DiCaprio portrays the emotions of his character Jack.
The dialogue starts with Jack saying “Rose:  Don’t do it!
The dialogue ends with Jack saying: That's what everybody says but, with all due respect, Miss, I'm not the one hanging off the back of a ship here. Come on. C'mon, give me your hand. You don't want to do this”: Whew! I'm Jack Dawson”. He gets Rose safely back on the boat.
The acting in this scene is convincing and the dialogue is believable. As a result, this makes the audience actually think both characters will both jump off the boat.  This makes the audience feel sympathy for the characters. The dialogue is very strong convincing and realistic, which makes the story believable. As a result, this keeps the audience interested in the movie. Therefore, the audience is curious to see what happens next in the movie. Despite the fact that the movie is based on tragedy, the dialogue is very serious, yet very comical as if James Cameron is trying to make light of the tragedy of  the actual Titanic. I think one of the reasons the movie Titanic was very successful is the way James Cameron wrote the movie’s dialogue in a very clever way to grab the audience’s attention.

Kate Wins let does a wonderful job portraying her character Rose, a young wealthy woman who is engaged just to please her family to a very demanding wealthy man she does not even love. One of my favorite bits of dialogues in the move is between Kate Winslet and Billy Zane. It starts when Rose says” I am not a foreman in one of your mills that you can command. I am your fiancée.

Cal Hockley: says “My fian... my fiancée! Yes, you are, and my wife. My wife in practice if not yet by law, so you will honor me.  You will honor me the way a wife is required to

honor a husband. Because I will not be made a fool, Rose. Is this in any way unclear?” Rose. NO (www. imdb.com /character/quotes).   Although, this dialogue is funny, it shows the realism of this situation a young woman who feels trapped in an unwanted marriage. In the beginning of the movie she does everything she is told to please everyone but herself. She does not express her own opinions or emotions.  Kate Winslet’s acting is so convincing especially when Rose discovers that she is in love with Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio). She realizes that she has the power to make her own decisions in order to achieve her desires in life. This transforms Kate Winslet‘s character because she starts to stop caring about what other people think of her and becomes an independent person.  This gives Rose the confident to leave her fiancée for Jack and find out who she really is as a person.

Another reason I like Titanic is the ending because even though many people question why Rose left Jack to die instead of helping Jack up on the piece of the boat causing both of them to be rescued and live happily ever after asf it were a fairly tale.” I do not think this was James Cameron’s purpose for writing the ending the way he did.  Personally, I do not think James Cameron wanted “a fairly tale ending.”In my opinion, he writes this particular ending to make the story more realistic and believable. After all, the Titanic is based on the true story of a tragedy, not a love story. In addition, he wanted to show that Rose Kate Winslet’s character was able to find her true self and survive not only as a result of her love for Jack, but because she persevered to overcome her obstacles and keep on living for herself not anyone else. These are the morals James Cameron successfully conveyed to his audience in the movie through the insightful portrayal of the characters by his outstanding cast.

The movie Titanic was successful because it is powered by emotions and persuasive acting of a very well chosen cast of actors.   Although, the movie Titanic is based on the actual tragedy of the Titanic it does not only successfully portray a deep love story, it also conveys the emotions of young woman who finds out that she is the only one who has control over her own life.  For that reason, she learns to express herself and fight for what she desires in her life through true love. This is why I love the movie Titanic.
