Mega cities have 3 times the people  of normal cities. As a result the definition of a city changes from the physical meaning of a city which means that a city is only an urban area where a large number of people live and work; to the psychological meaning of cities.  As a result, mega cities need do not only need the physical elements of cities, but because of fact that the amount of people who live and work in cities changes the meaning of cities as a whole all over the world in terms of what density and  crowdedness mean and how they differ on their psychological effect on the people who occupy mega cities. On; the other hand, mega cities also require the psychological meaning of cities which, is what a city is made to represents, to balance out the people who live in cities and the purpose of the cities in society in the first place.  This balance is necessary for all cites to survive. In my opinion, This balance is known as the intersection between processes of urbanization and urbanism. Urbanization is the process of making a city . In other words, urbanization the movement of people from the country side, in order to make an area of countryside or a village into a town in a rural  area . On the other hand, urbanism is a cultural the typical way of life of people who live in a city or town this is why urban planning agenda will require that attention be given to urban settlements of all sizes. If well managed, cities offer important opportunities for economic development and for expanding access to basic services, including health care and education, for large numbers of people. Providing public transportation, as well as housing, electricity, water and sanitation for a densely settled urban population is typically cheaper and less environmentally damaging than providing a similar level of services to a dispersed rural population
In   order to understand   why mega cities are so Important in society and how they are different from other cities people need to  know the difference between the Idea of density and crowdedness In cities. Density is the concentration of people or things within an area in relation to its size In terms of the populations of cities.   In opposition to density being only physical the idea of crowdedness which is a large group of people gathered in one place for example a cities has a psychological effect on people in cities in my opinion because of the behavioral sink
This is why the process of urban planning is very important for the developments of future of cities and maintaining our cities now. All cities require that attention be given to urban buildings and bridges for all sizes. If they are well managed, cities offer important opportunities for economic development and for expanding access to basic services, including health care and education, for large numbers of people.  In addition, cities also Provide public transportation, as well as housing, electricity, water and sanitation for a densely settled urban population is typically cheaper and less environmentally damaging than providing a similar level of services to a dispersed rural population
There are many concerns over the future megacities.  The most significant urban planning challenges revolve around infrastructure and public works, especially access to clean drinking water, adequate sanitation, and functioning public transportation. Urban aquifers, such as the one in Mexico City, are being overtaxed by growing urban populations, and civic engineers struggle to design solutions. Megacities already need to obtain their water from increasingly farther distances, sometimes crossing international borders to do so, complicating matters further. Public transportation is a significant concern as well. Thousands of cars now clog the streets in these growing cities, creating nightmares for commuters.
