 I was in special education classes until I reached 8th grade. I attended P.S 112 in Queens in mainstream classes in high school and graduated in 2011 with my regent's diploma. I continued my education and attended Nassau Community College and got my associates degree in Liberal Arts. and Human services in 2014. I later earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Hofstra University in 2017. I received special accommodations throughout my college experience including an aide t take notes for me. I am interested in obtaining employment and in being an advocate for individuals with disabilities. As a counselor, I can create an environment where people are not afraid to talk about religion or social problems. I plan to have open discussions with my clients, by asking open-ended questions such as “Why do you think you are here today?” and “What makes you unique?”.
