In order to understand how we developed into our current society, with a very rigid education system, we need to understand how Durkheim views education as a religion, in the context of the social integration of society. As a society we’re weighed down by responsibilities, inundated with distractions from every direction & disturbed by traumas that we’re often unaware of.  Most countries ensure that their people can at least read, write and count.
